Sarah Jurgens is an actress with a steadfast commitment to her craft. She was born in Sussex, England, grew up on the West Coast of Canada, and trained out on the East Coast of Canada (Toronto). Her South-African roots and British humor bring a sense of fearlessness to her work.

Sarah completed her BFA in the Acting Conservatory in the Department of Theatre at York University. During her training Sarah developed a fierce affection for dialects and discovered her love of different theatre styles such as Restoration, Character Mask, and Clown.

Sarah thrives off of creating innovative theatre through the process of collective creation, improvisation, stream of consciousness writing and the exploration of the collective unconscious. It is through this process that she creates and develops characters, each of which have rich humility and unique stories. Sarah strives to continuously challenge herself in her practice.

In her final year at York, Sarah and a dear colleague, Sasha Singer-Wilson, founded their theatre company, The Blood Projects. The Blood Projects is a place for Sarah to create and explore her work and develop her own artistic voice.
